Announcing Our 2025-26 Season
Holiday Concert – All This Time

Our homage to the Festival of Lessons and Carols, featuring poetry and carols both traditional and modern.
- Saturday, December 13, 2025
- Sunday, December 14, 2025
- Both concerts at St. Andrew’s Church in Kent, CT at 3:00 PM
The traditional Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols out of King’s College Cambridge was first celebrated nearly 150 years ago, on Christmas Eve, 1880. In lieu of biblical readings, our concert version of this globally popular service includes poetry, interspersed with both traditional and less familiar carols.
The Christian season of Advent, the weeks leading up to Christmas, shares common themes with millennia of religious and pagan observances during the cold, increasingly dark days before the winter solstice. It is a time when the lack of daylight and weather conditions can deeply affect our moods. While we typically associate the holiday season—both religious and secular—with joy, festivity, and community, it can be a time of sadness, longing, and isolation for many people. Our program, like the original Lessons and Carols, acknowledges that complexity and seasonal context while seeking to bring a message of comfort, hope, peace, and ultimately joy.
